The Other Side of Frances a Movie by Black Fan Publishing

This compelling story follows 14-year-old Frances Ayee, the daughter of Pastor George Ayee, who is thrust into a whirlwind of chaos when her seemingly perfect life crumbles after she is viciously sexually assaulted at gunpoint. All her hopes and dreams collapse into chaos as her family quickly sends her away to avoid public ridicule and embarrassment within their church community. After giving birth to her son, Julius, Frances is exiled to Toronto, Ontario, to live with her Aunt Beverley.

"The Other Side of Frances" is a powerful narrative of resilience, redemption, and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her child. It sheds light on the struggles many face in the shadows of societal judgment and personal trauma, offering a beacon of hope and strength.

We need your support to bring this poignant story to the screen. We have already shot 80% of the story in Jamaica and we are now poised to achieve the Canadian portion-which entails-a formidable storyline-which unfolds in Toronto-postproduction and designing the soundtrack. By contributing, you are not just supporting a film; you are becoming part of a movement to amplify voices that need to be heard.

Hurricane Gilbert by Black Fan Publishing

Hurricane Gilbert

Hurricane Gilbert: A Jamaican Saga is a story told from the beginning of the island's culture to its current existence. An introduction depicts ships, explorers, the need to occupy, a chronology of conquistadors, natives shocked with reality, the battle for a new hemisphere, slaves scattered in a diaspora, and Michael Manley introducing the politics of change.

The Other Side

The Other Side, Rastaman Vibrations depicts the turbulence of Jamaican life in the 1960s-early '70s through the passions and spiritual hunger of a young Jamaican man, Julius. Against a backdrop of the Diaspora and simmering civil unrest, Julius wrestles with love, truth, and life. From the main character, Rasta, what he learns surpasses human desire as he comes to a keen understanding of the hidden purpose of his own destiny.
